Commandant of Cadets
MAJ Knutson
I'm MAJ Knutson, the Commandant of Cadets at the 308th Battalion, San Gorgonio High School. My military background includes serving as an Infantryman and Operations NCO from 1994 to 2006 in both the United States Army and the California Army National Guard. Throughout my military career, I've had the privilege of traveling extensively across various states and numerous countries. I got to see the world, one blister at a time! Sadly due to injuries during my service I was unable to continue stay in the military.
I've dedicated 26 years to working at both high school and middle school levels in multiple school districts. My roles have encompassed a wide array of positions, including Brigade Advisor, Brigade Support Officer, Brigade Adjutant, California Cadet Corps State Assistant Training Officer, California Cadet Corps Safety and Security Officer, and California Cadet Corps Program Specialist for the San Bernardino Unified School District.
Academically, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, a testament to my enduring curiosity about human behavior. Additionally, I am certified as a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Trainer, First Aid Instructor, and hold training in Basic Military Emergency Management Systems (MEMS). I also possess a Basic Military Drill Credential with Physical Education (PE) Authorization. Beyond academics, I serve as a Site Education Technology Coach (SETC) at San Gorgonio High School, enhancing staff and students' digital literacy and technological skills.
