The award celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from diverse backgrounds who are making a positive impact on their communities and the environment. Students ages 8 to 18 who are actively working on meaningful service projects are eligible to apply. Winners receive $10,000 to support their education and continued service efforts.

SBCISD GEAR UP Kick-Off
SBCISD GEAR UP Students from our 4 middle schools will meet to kick off our amazing program. This event will occur at SBHS Varsity Gym on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Parents, please look for permission slips to sign for your scholars.

Participation and Photo Release Forms
Attention Parents/Guardians of ALL SBCISD 7th Grade students. Please submit a GEAR UP Participation and Photo Release Form to any of your GEAR UP district Coordinators. The forms only have to be signed 1 time while enrolled at SBCISD schools. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Welcome to GEAR UP
Attention Current 7th Grade Students and Parents:
SBCISD is proud to announce that GEAR UP is here. GEAR UP is a program that will follow our scholars through their first year of college. Students will be taking a participation form home to enroll in the program along with a photo release authorization. Also, join SBCISD's GEAR UP Google Classroom with code kpwxfjq and get all the GEAR UP news hot off the press.
We look forward to servicing students with presentations, tutoring, mentoring, field trips to visit colleges and universities, and much more. Stay tuned at the start of the year for a Family Meeting where you can meet your GEAR UP Coordinators and discuss the program's benefits.
