These are ongoing service opportunities where many of our Savio students already serve!

Round Rock Area Serving Center

1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month(4pm) & 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month(1:30pm)

Our new building is open and we need YOU! Volunteer cashiers, pricers, clothing sorters, electronic testers, and receiving are all needed for our larger store! Volunteering is easy! Orientations are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4pm and the 2nd and 4th Saturday at 1:30pm upstairs in the conference room of the main building located at 1099 E Main Street in Round Rock.

Volunteer Hours:

Mondays (closed to public): 10am-4pm

Tuesdays-Fridays: 10am-7pm

Saturdays & Sundays: 10am-5pm

Hill Country Community Ministries

Trail Conservancy

The Trail Conservancy relies on volunteers to complete many ecological restoration projects, events, and tasks to keep the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail on the right trajectory toward improved ecological function. Volunteering with TTC ranges from litter abatement, planting, seeding, invasive plant species removal, and more. Volunteers under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign a permission form.

Austin Creative Reuse

Our mission is to foster conservation and reuse through creativity, education and community building. Every day, dedicated volunteers help us make art sustainable and accessible to everyone! Sign-up to volunteer with us for just one day, or on the regular.

Feed My People

Thursdays 4:30-7:30 am

Savio brings a group of students to Feed My people on Thursdays during the summer and school year! The dates we are going this summer are May 28, June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23, August 6, and August 13.

St. Louis Food Pantry

Every Saturday (7:45-11:00 am)

St. Louis Food Pantry is a partner agency of the Central Texas Food Bank. We provide groceries, dry goods and fresh seasonal vegetables from the St. Louis Farm, and distribute the food to those within our community. You can volunteer to sort food donations, stock shelves, assist with distribution, greet clients, register clients on the computer, or help pick up donations (during the week or on Saturdays).

Mobile Loaves & Fishes

MLF has many volunteer opportunities on a MLF truck in many areas of town or by volunteering at Community First! Village in many different ways.

Special Olympics

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Special Olympics Texas would not exist today - and could not have been created without the time, energy, and dedication of thousands of volunteers throughout Texas. Volunteers are the backbone of this organization; so on behalf of the athletes we serve across the state, thank you for your interest and commitment to our movement. Students can volunteer with every type of sport!!

Sunday Lunchbox

Every Saturday (9:30am-1:00pm) & Sunday (10:00-11:00am)

Sunday Lunchbox provides nutritious and community-inspired food for those most underserved by Austin's food system. You can volunteer at kitchen shifts on our Cottage Volunteer Signup and delivery shifts on our Move the Food signup. Sunday Fun Day shifts help get boxes ready for our families each week, or a Preserve Party to help turn our seconds from the farm into yummy meals.

Angel House Soup Kitchen

Every day, including Saturdays (8:30am-11:30am)

The Angel House Soup Kitchen is a human service organization of caring and loving people. We serve the poor who suffer from the lack of basic human material needs such as food,and clothing. Although we are not a food pantry, we are a soup kitchen that serves a hot meal every day for our guests. Age 12 and up are allowed. To volunteer email us: angelhouse@austinbaptistchapel.com

Keep Austin Beautiful

Volunteering with Keep Austin Beautiful is a fun and rewarding way to help care for the local environment. Community programs include picking up litter, restoring waterways, planting trees, building and maintaining public gardens, removing invasive plants, and more. You can volunteer in one of our existing programs, get more involved by becoming a volunteer project leader, or organize your own project with our free resources and support. People's Community Clinic

Our Junior Volunteer program runs during the summer months. Junior Volunteers are high school students between 15 to 17 years of age who will help support and provide assistance to our programs for patients. Junior Volunteers are required to serve our organization for a minimum of 2 months due to the time and effort we put into screening, onboarding, and training new volunteers. Junior Volunteers are eligible to apply as a Early Childhood Program Support Volunteer, Nutrition Program Support Volunteer, or any Office Admin Volunteer Role. Applications will open in April.

Kindful Health

Kindful Health is a privately owned hospice company that is focused on providing patients and their families with the full promise of the hospice benefit in the State of Texas. We are quickly growing and in need of volunteers like you to help us with the most important aspect of hospice: community. Serving Center Garden

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (9am-11am), and the 1st Saturday of every month (9am-11am)

The Round Rock Serving Center is looking for volunteers that either know how to grow fruits and vegetables, or would like to learn. Our gardens provide about 5000 pounds of fresh, organic produce to the food pantry every year. We have 47 raised vegetable beds and a small orchard. Here's what you can learn: soil preparation, planting seeds and transplants, pest control, fertilizing, harvesting, weed control, composting and greenhouse management. Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Friday and Saturday 8:30am-10:00

Volunteers help daily by tending the gardens, supporting our research, assisting guests and answering gardening questions online. Volunteers can work in the Garden, Natural Areas, Youth and Family Education, and the Gift Store ongoing throughout the year.

Blood Drives @ Savio / We Are Blood

Students who are 17+ can come lend a helping arm and save local lives. Don't forget about the High School Cord Program, where high school students who donate blood three or more times can receive a graduation cord from We Are Blood! You get one volunteer hour for each blood donation.

Central Texas Food Bank

Central Texas Food Bank has weeknight and weekend volunteer opportunities helping prepare food donations for distribution and distributing food at mobile food pantries and at their main warehouse and garden. Before signing up to volunteer, please review the important information and instructions provided in the Frequently Asked Questions here. St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store & Food Pantry

The St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store is charity in action through the hearts and hands of our volunteers. Thrift Store team members assist with many daily tasks including warehouse sorters and receivers, organizers, and pricers. This is a great opportunity to serve, give back to the community, and help our neighbors in need. For the Food Pantry Volunteers are needed on Fridays (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) and Saturdays (7:30 am - Noon). The food pantry is open to neighbors Saturdays from 8:00am-11:00am. Pantry volunteers assist in stocking and inventory of food items, as well in the preparation of food boxes to be distributed to neighbors.

Texas Children's Hospital

Volunteers assist with patient activities, provide comfort and care to children and families, help with administrative duties, and support special events. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old, with some positions requiring volunteers to be 18 or older. Opportunities are available throughout the year, typically in the afternoons or on weekends.

Austin Diaper Bank

The Austin Diaper Bank relies on volunteers all year long to help us sort, count, and package diapers before they go out to Central Texas families through our partner organizations.

Maximum capacity for volunteers is 10 people at a time.
The minimum age to volunteer is 13
Each volunteer shift is two hours
