Department of Computational Physics

The Department of Computational Physics, comes under the division of physics was established formerly as Department of micro and nanoelectronics in SIMATS School of Engineering (SSE), and renamed as now. It holds 8 faculty members, PhD scholars (5 completed and 7 ongoing) to explore in multidisciplinary research in the field of materials science, nanotechnology, which includes single crystals, DFT simulations, Biomaterials, Molecular docking, energy storage, magnetic storage devices, electromagnetic shielding, gas sensors, and environmental applications. 

Our faculties are well qualified to engage themselves in a team to teach students and with the vital research objective for the splendid production in the form of international scientific outcomes (international publications) and also associated with several prominent academicians and researchers to escalate the reputation of the department with the tremendous support provided by our institution.

The vision of the department is to provide quality oriented teaching that may bring out the potentiality of the students. 

Research activities in the department would be strengthened. To this end, the department is planning to emphasis on research activities with the support from the head of our Institution. 

Our mission is to maintain a department that is regarded as equal to any in terms of its relevance of teaching and research, its quality of support and facilities and the learning opportunities. To develop a strong scientific foundation through fundamental principles of physics, to pursue a successful engineering carrier and to train the students to apply these basic principles in real world situation.
