Savannah R3 school counselors design and deliver a Comprehensive School Counseling Program. The school counselors at Savannah R3 utilize the Comprehensive School Counseling Program to advocate and promote equity for all students. The counseling program consists of four components; Counseling Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, and System Support. Each of these components are outlined below.
The School Counseling Curriculum consists of structured developmental activities presented through classrooms and large groups. School Counseling Curriculum activities are delivered through classroom lessons and educational assemblies.
The purpose of Responsive Services is to work with students whose circumstances have the potential to interfere with social/emotional, academic, and career development. This includes services such as

Individual Planning helps provide educational goal setting and career exploration for students. Through Individual Student Planning, school counselors assist students with the transitions into kindergarten, grade to grade, elementary to middle school, and school to school.
The System Support component is implemented through activities such as program management, professional development, staff and community relations, consultation, committee participation, community outreach, and evaluation.
