The CTE Professional Development Internship is tied to a sequence of courses that are required to be completed prior to enrolling. Students can request an internship in any of our established pathways. Internships are a blend of academic and career coursework which leads to proving mastery of industry skills and competencies. Students must be +16 years old to begin an internship.
SAUSD will be offering Work Experience Education in Fall 2022. Students must be over 16 years old to enroll. The beginning of the course follows hiring procedures, researching a job, creating a resume and cover letter, and preparing for interviews. After students are placed at an Internship site, they meet with the teacher once a week to turn in "timecards", reflect on training, and learn other relevant work skills. (Employment laws and resources, customer service skills, communication with management, and policies and procedures)
