CHAPTER 5: SCHOOLWIDE ACTION PLAN

Santa Ana High School’s School-wide Action Plan (SPSA) was developed in conjunction with the WASC Focus on Learning Guidelines. Our entire school community, from faculty to parents, contributed to its development, through various focus groups and meetings. The plan is a living document, as our WASC team gathered data and formulated the plan and stakeholders continued to provide input and insight throughout the writing and revision process. This plan will guide us as we look ahead to the next six years.

Santa Ana High School stakeholders adhered to the following principles in this plan’s development:

  1. Build Santa Ana High School’s vision as an entire school community, implementing best practices and strategies and involving all stakeholders keeping student needs at the heart of every action

  2. Utilize best practices and instructional expertise of those at Santa Ana High School and other Santa Ana Unified schools

  3. Foster a school culture that is devoted to growth, data based decision making, honest reflection, regular assessment of progress towards goals, and continued monitoring of areas of opportunity for improvement

Santa Ana High School’s Leadership Team concludes that the following focus areas must specifically be recognized:

  • Priority Focus Area: Greater emphasis on preparing students for a diverse range of opportunities and paths available to students after high school in conjunction with our SLOs.

  • Priority Focus Area: Increase quality of parent and community involvement and interactions, with a focus on MTSS and student emotional support.

  • Priority Focus Area: Improve and increase technology-based learning school-wide so that students are better equipped to master technology competencies and their ethical and appropriate uses.
