SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL):
The process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

6th Grade - BELONGING: How can we create a place where everyone feels like they belong?
7th Grade - WELL-BEING: How do I develop personal well-being & how does it affect our relationships with others?
8th Grade - ENGAGEMENT: How do we practice engaging meaningfully in our lives, our friendships, and in our school?
A best practice youth suicide prevention project designed to harness the power of peer social networks to change unhealthy norms and culture, ultimately preventing suicide, bullying, and substance abuse.
Group of 40 peer leaders meeting twice monthly with adult advisors
Goal is to launch schoolwide campaigns to spread messages of HOPE, HELP, & STRENGTH
YOUTH FRONTIERS COURAGE RETREAT - YEARLY in 7th Grade
A day to inspire students to use courage to do the right thing and make responsible decisions despite their fears.
Learning Objectives for the Retreat:
Identify personal fears and understand that everyone has them.
Commit to acting with courage to make your school a better place.
Deepen relationships with classmates to break down social barriers.
