Respect the teacher - do not talk during instruction, stop and listen on signal.
Good Sportsmanship - treat others as you want to be treated, be nice.
Play Safely - be aware of what is around you, be in control, use equipment properly.
Keep Hands and Feet to yourself.
Enter the gym and line up in a quiet, orderly manner.
Have Fun and make the class Fun for others.
Our goal is to have the students learn, move and have fun . . . make that FUN!
Making the Grade
Students are graded on Skill - how well they perform various tasks, and Effort - trying their best, paying attention and displaying good Sportsmanship.
What Are We Doing
Grades 3 through 6 will be taught the fundamentals of team sports and given a chance to apply the lessons in game-like settings. We also emphasize Fitness, Healthy Life Choices and Sportsmanship.. In grades K-2 we place emphasis on learning through movement and movement exploration. This includes ball skills, dance, tag games, fitness, jump ropes, swinging ropes, balancing and basic locomotive patterns and so much more! Moving and Fun for all are the order of the day in PE!
Extras
You can always find out what we are up to by reading the Coaches’ Corner in the Riccardi Review each month Also, once Coach B. (at least one of them) is done coaching at the High School, we will offer Intramurals. This is an opportunity for students in grades four, five and six to stay after school and play a sport we have worked on. Typically we rotate which class gets to do this on a weekly basis
