This course provides a background in the topics necessary for success in calculus. It is also designed for students who want to be better prepared for Advanced Placement calculus. The course will include functions, graphing functions, solving higher order equations, systems of equations, exponents, logarithms, trigonometry, conic sections, polar equations and their graphs, series, sequences and limits.

1. Quarterly grades will be determined by using a total point evaluation that includes: Tests, quizzes, and homework
2. Final course grades will be calculated by using each quarter as 20%, and the final exam as 20%.
1. All problems must be attempted and all work must be shown as demonstrated in class.
2. Unless absent, homework will not be accepted late.
3. Homework points will be disbursed as follows:
1. Follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Raise your hand and wait to be called on before talking in class.
3. Always sit in your assigned seat.
4. Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings. If you are late three or more times in a quarter you will be assigned detention.
5. Be prepared for class with a pen or pencil, notebook, textbook, and any other required material.
6. Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
7. Do not touch anything in the classroom that does not belong to you unless you ask first. This includes the blinds and windows.
8. You must show respect for every person in the classroom.
9. If you have a bathroom emergency please take care of it before class begins or at the end of the period. Do not ask to go in the middle of a lesson!
10. There is none of the following allowed in class:
1. Personal notes you are writing or reading.
2. MP3 players, Electronics, etc....
3. Schoolwork from other subjects.
4. Cell phones.
1. A sharpened pencil or a pen.
2. A three ring binder for notes and assignments. Your notebook should be kept in chronological order.
3. A graphing calculator is required (TI 84+)
