In Algebra 2 and Trigonometry, students will extend the concepts of algebra and geometry, with a focus on critical thinking and the interconnectedness of mathematics. This is a fast-paced Regent's level course which delves deep into advanced algebraic concepts, requiring students to have gained a strong background knowledge in a previous Algebra 1 course. Algebra 2 with Trigonometry provides a comprehensive exploration of functions, polynomials, rational exponents and radicals, logarithms, rational expressions and equations,sequences and series, statistics, and trigonometry.

Grading will be completed on a total-point system with points distributed based on the type of assessment. Class grades may include, but are not limited to, homework, in-class assignments, participation/preparedness, quizzes, and tests. Quizzes and tests will have the highest point values; as a result, class grades will be determined by and reflect the student’s mathematical content knowledge
1. All problems must be attempted and all work must be shown as demonstrated in class.
2. Unless absent, homework will not be accepted late.
3. Homework points will be disbursed as follows:
0=not turned in, incomplete, or late
1=incomplete or not corrected
2=complete and corrected.
1. Follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Raise your hand and wait to be called on before talking in class.
3. Always sit in your assigned seat.
4. Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings. If you are late three or more times in a quarter you will be assigned detention.
5. Be prepared for class with a pen or pencil, notebook, textbook, and any other required material.
6. Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
7. Do not touch anything in the classroom that does not belong to you unless you ask first. This includes the blinds and windows.
8. You must show respect for every person in the classroom.
9. If you have a bathroom emergency please take care of it before class begins or at the end of the period. Do not ask to go in the middle of a lesson!
10. There is none of the following allowed in class:
1. Personal notes you are writing or reading.
2. MP3 players, Electronics, etc....
3. Schoolwork from other subjects.
4. Cell phones.
1. A sharpened pencil or a pen.
2. A three ring binder for notes and assignments. Your notebook should be kept in chronological order.
3. A graphing calculator is required (TI 84+)
