Reminders 

Logistics

• Students need to be at school by 5:30 am.  The bus will leave without you if you are not here.

• You must have your luggage tag on your luggage

• Water bottles should be able to seal tight  - no Stanley’s, please or straws sticking out

• You are not allowed to be on social media throughout this trip

• You do NOT need any more money for the trip- all meals will be covered.  

• If you want - bring money for souvenirs. 

Nurse notes: 

• Medications: All medications need to be handed to the Nurse (Diane Murphy) when we arrive at school Tuesday morning.

• Each medication needs a form filled out with it. - see nurse for questions

• Nut-free snacks on the bus

• There will be one bag on each bus with first aid needs

Behavior

• There will be many other tour groups and schools in the city.  Please stay with your chaperone.  

• Do not engage with people that are not on our tour

• There is no running, or yelling on this trip 

• You should not be on your phone when we are walking around the memorials or museums.  Be present. 

• Air pods and headphones are only for the bus and hotel.

Attire: 

• Students MUST bring the t-shirts on the trip.  We will wear the t-shirts Thursday

• It might rain - be prepared with a small umbrella and/or raincoat

• Do not wear offensive clothing or clothing that might have others question you.

• Wednesday, you need to dress nice.  We will be going to the Capitol meeting with Representative Pappas.  

• Bring comfortable shoes to walk in-. We will be walking between 15,000 and 23,000 steps a day.

• Bring a nice outfit for the dinner cruise. No heels for the boat

Bus Information

• There is a bathroom on the bus but only for emergencies

• We will be stopping at least one time on the way down

• Bring a portable charger for your phone for the bus

• Any music/ movies on the bus should be appropriate and not disrupt others near you

• Bring headphones

• There is no walking around on the bus

• Bus snacks need to be nut free

• Anything you bring on the bus is your responsibility

• A pillow and blanket is fine

• Everyone will be 2 to a seat 

• Once you pick a seat - that is your seat for the duration of the trip

Hotel

• Each group will give their chaperone one of their room keys for emergencies

• There will be security on your floor at night

• There will be other people in the hotel, be respectful

• There is no running or yelling 

• We will not be using the pool or the fitness center

• Talk to your groups to figure out who is showering at night or in the morning - talk about the timing. 

• If anything gets broken in the hotel, your group will be charged for it.

This trip is a fun experience!  Take it all in, you will be making memories to last a lifetime.  Enjoy and have fun with your friends and chaperone.
