5:30 am Load the buses at Hampton Academy
6:00 am The buses will depart for Washington, DC
Lunch stop on the way to Washington, DC - $15 cash provided
5:00 pm Approx. arrival at the Pentagon City Mall in Washington DC
Dinner at the Pentagon City Mall food court - $15 cash provided
7:00 pm Visit to the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, and Korean War Memorial
8:30 pm Visit to the World War II Memorial
9:00 pm The buses will depart for the Embassy Suites Hotel in Georgetown
Wednesday May 15, 2024 7:00 am Buffet breakfast at the hotel - Included
8:00 am The buses will depart from the hotel for Washington, DC
8:30 am Visit the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and the Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial
10:30 am Visit the US Holocaust Memorial Museum
12:30 pm Lunch at the American History Museum Cafeteria - $20 cash provided
1:30 pm Time to visit the Smithsonian Museum of American History
3:30 pm Visit the African American Museum of History and Culture
5:00 pm The group will return to the hotel to change clothes for the dinner cruise
7:00 pm Dinner cruise on the Potomac River - Included
10:00 pm The buses will depart from the waterfront for the hotel

7:00 am Buffet breakfast at the hotel - Included
8:00 am The buses will depart from the hotel for Washington, DC
9:00 am Guided tour of Arlington National Cemetery
10:30 am Visit to the Iwo Jima Memorial
11:00 am Panoramic Photo on the west side of the US Capitol Building
12:00 pm Lunch at the US Capitol Visitor’s Center cafeteria - $20 cash provided
1:00 pm Tour of the US Capitol Building
3:00 pm Visit to the National Archives Building
4:00 pm Time to visit the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History
5:45 pm Dinner at Carmine’s Restaurant in Washington, DC - Included
8:00 pm Guided lantern tour of Old Town Alexandria
9:30 pm The buses will depart from Alexandria for the hotel
Friday May 17, 2024
7:00 am Buffet breakfast at the hotel - Included
8:15 am The buses will depart from the hotel for Washington, DC
8:30 am Visit to the North Portico of the White House for photos
9:30 am Visit to the National Zoo
11:30 am The buses will depart from Washington, DC for New Hampshire Lunch stop on the way home - $15 cash provided
Dinner stop on the way home - $15 cash provided
11:30 pm Approx. arrival at Hampton Academy
Packing List!
2024 Washington DC Packing List
One small portable luggage (carry-on size is best)
Spending Money
Shoes- sneakers are best. We will be walking A LOT.
Socks
Lightweight jacket for cold, rainy weather
Outfit for Spirit Dinner Cruise (see below)
Layers of clothing (sweatshirt or fleece)
2-3 pairs of school-appropriate bottoms (jeans are good)
Prescription medicine (in original container) to give to nurse.
Over-the-counter medication needs to be in the original container as well, labeled with the student’s name,
and given to the school nurse
Inhalers & EpiPens (self carry & clearly labeled)
Book/games for the bus ride
Snacks/ refillable water bottle
Toiletries and personal items/pack what you need.
SMALL portable umbrella
Wall charger for phone
Backpack for traveling during the day
Portable phone charger (not necessary but may be helpful)
Sunscreen
Dress Code Information for the Dinner Cruise:
We recommend casually stylish attire such as nice pants or jeans, polos,
button-down shirts, and sundresses or skirts.
Although allowed, we strongly discourage t-shirts, casual jeans, shorts, and sneakers.
Don’t forget, we’ll be cruising on the water! We suggest wearing flat,
closed-toed shoes (recommended, but not required or enforced) for your safety.”
Dress Code for the Capitol Tour:
The school dress code applies. Please no ripped jeans, graphic t-shirts, or crop tops.
