Ellis Band:
Band is open to learners in grades 5-8. Students in these grades can begin to learn to play the following instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone and Percussion (focus on snare and bass drum).
Band is divided by grade level- Grades 5 beginning players and Grade 6-8 players.
Grade 5 will have their lessons and time to work at the end of the school day from 2:30-3:00pm. For a majority of the Fall, the students will work in small lesson groups dependent on their instrument. Later in the year we will move to a band format where everyone will come together to rehearse.
For the Fall the schedule will be: (Tentative depending on how many sign ups there are)
Tuesday- Flutes
Wednesday- Percussion
Thursday- Clarinet and Saxophone
Friday- Trumpet and Trombone
Instruments need to be rented as the school does not have instruments for students to borrow.
Please click this link for information on renting instruments from Music and Arts. This link gives further information as well. If you have specific questions about rentals please contact Music and Arts directly. Please put in your rental request through the website given in the rental letter.
I highly recommend renting versus purchasing an instrument. Music and Arts has a wonderful program that will allow you to rent and if the learner decides to switch instruments or no longer participate they can take back the instrument versus being stuck with an expensive instrument that collects dust.
Please note: Students are required to attend two concerts, a winter concert and spring concert dates to be posted soon.

Ellis 3-5 Chorus:
This year the Elementary Chorus will be for grades 3-5, due to the change to the middle school model.
The 3-5 Chorus will meet on Mondays from 2:30-3:00.
If your student wishes to participate please fill out this google form.
Students asked me to post their songs so they can practice at home (love them) here are their songs:
Yes, students may participate in both activities!
If your student has a passion for both of these activities, they most certainly may participate in both.
