Any student taking AP US History will read West of the Revolution: An Uncommon History of 1776 by Claudio Saunt. 

While they read the book they should answer the discussion questions for each chapter. The answers should be in complete sentences and provide textual evidence to support their answers. 

Once they finish the book students will write a 400 - 500-word essay answering one of four questions. Their essay should include a strong thesis and three pieces of evidence.
