Mathematics Courses
The Goal and Objective of the Math Department
The mathematics curriculum at CHS offers required and elective courses in which students are given the opportunity to strengthen their number sense and develop strong quantitative literacy and reasoning skills. Students are expected to develop perseverance and habits of mind to think critically and use mathematics to model real life situations. The curriculum is aligned to school and state competencies as well as the Common Core State Standards and Mathematical Practices. Each course will challenge students to persevere in their problems solving by interpreting mathematical problems, explaining their reasoning or the reasoning of others and attending to precision.
