Meet the Department

Commons A

Ms. Peabody is one of the school counselors in Commons A. She began her career at Concord High School in 1997 and has always felt a sense of pride within the halls at CHS. She firmly believes that the ups and downs the school has moved through has strengthened that sense of pride. Ms. Peabody earned her BA from Springfield College and her MS in Human Services from New Hampshire College (now known as SNHU). In her spare time, Ms. Peabody loves gardening, reading, sewing, playing board games and scrapbooking. In the winter, she enjoys downhill skiing and snowshoeing.

Ms. St. Laurent is one of the school counselors in Commons A. Entering her third year at CHS, she has previously worked as a school counselor in both the public and private high school settings for the last 16 years. She thoroughly enjoys working in a collaborative, student-focused environment. Ms. St. Laurent earned a BA in Sociology from St. Anselm College and MEd in Counseling from UNH. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children and her family, running, hiking, and spending time at the beach.

Commons B

Mr. Flower is one of the school counselors in Commons B. He is entering his 26th year at Concord High School and loves being part of a community that is always looking for ways to improve and learn. Mr. Flower earned a BA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and MEd from Keene State College. When not working, Mr. Flower enjoys hiking, running, volleyball, bicycling, swimming, theater, gardening and relaxing.

Mrs. McLaughlin is one of the school counselors in Commons B. She started at CHS in 2009 and feels incredibly lucky to work with the truly wonderful students and dedicated staff here.  Mrs. McLaughlin earned her BA in Communication and Psychology, as well as her MEd in counseling from the University of New Hampshire.  She came to CHS after working as an assistant director of admissions at UNH for several years. In her time outside of CHS, Mrs. McLaughlin enjoys being with her family and friends, hiking, camping, kayaking, swimming, and reading.

Commons D

Mr. Curtin is one of the school counselors in Commons D. A member of the CHS community for 23 years, Mr. Curtin loves working with a tireless faculty who are dedicated to the success of all students. He earned his BS from Appalachian State University and his Master's degree from Plymouth State University. When not at work, Mr. Curtin enjoys sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee, carpentry and woodworking.

Mrs. Ratacik is one of the school counselors in Commons D. This is her 9th year as a high school counselor and her first at Concord High School. She is thrilled to join the CHS community and work with the wonderful students, families, and staff within Concord. Mrs. Ratacik earned her B.A. in Sociology, Psychology, and Criminology from Assumption University and her M.Ed. in School Counseling from Rivier University. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children. In the fall she loves to be outside or watch a good football game, skiing in the winter, and swimming in the summer.

Additional Counseling Supports

Ms. Orlen has been at Concord High School for the last 18 years, previously as a special education teacher and now as a school counselor. Ms. Orlen loves working in an environment where she is able to make rich and wonderful connections with both students and staff. She earned a BA in Psychology from UNH and a MS in Community Mental Health Counseling from New England College. In her spare time, Ms. Orlen enjoys reading recipes and creating her own dishes, reading/writing poetry, and spending quality time with her family.

Mrs. Tucker is entering her 8th year as the Student Assistance Program (SAP) counselor at Concord High School. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Vermont and her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New England College. When she is not working, she enjoys running, reading, spending time with her family, and being by the ocean.

Dr. Borawska is the school psychologist at Concord High School. She has been with the Concord School District for a total of 16 years, 7 of those years at CHS and truly believes that student engagement defines who we are as a community. Dr. Borawska earned a BS from Stony Brook University, M.Ed. from Hofstra University, CAGS from Plymouth State University and a Ph.D. from Walden University. Her Post-doc in Neuropsychology from Fielding University is currently in process. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and traveling.
