2023-2024 Events 

On Wednesday May 1st and/or Tuesday May 7th, SAU67 (Bow & Dunbarton School District) would like to invite any local parents/caregivers/community members to attend FREE documentary film screenings in the auditorium at Bow High School (55 Falcon Way Bow, NH 03304). 


On Wednesday May 1st at 6pm will be the showing of Chasing Childhood, a 90 minute film that explores the world of structure, stranger danger, helicopter parenting, free play and independence in the lives of our children. Following this screening there will be a panel, Q&A discussion with local representatives including SAU67 Coordinator of Wellness & Equity- Beth Corkum, Bow Memorial School Psychologist- Dr. Julie Bassi and Assistant Director of the Children's Program at Riverbend Community Mental Health- Tom Perlet, LICSW. 


On Tuesday May 7th at 5pm will be the showing of Anxious Nation, a 50 minute film that explores those struggling with anxiety and encourages open dialogue and the sharing of coping strategies to shine light on the often hidden issue. Following this screening, Lynn Lyons, licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in Concord, New Hampshire will give a presentation and Q&A on the subject of anxiety, its role in families and the need for a preventative approach at home and in schools. Lynn is a sought after expert, appearing in the New York Times, Time, NPR, Psychology Today, Good Morning America and other media outlets. Lynn is author/co author of several books and articles on anxiety, including Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents: 7 ways to stop the worry cycle and raise courageous and independent children. Lynn is also the co-host of the popular podcast Flusterclux. 


FREE childcare will be available for both events with preregistration. Registration is encouraged but not required for adults to attend. The registration link can be found HERE.


College Admission Representatives are visiting CHS throughout the fall to meet with interested students. They can be found just outside Learning Commons A. 

Applying to College 101

Selecting colleges and applying for admission can be overwhelming. There are applications to be completed, deadlines to meet, essays to write and policies to understand. This session is intended to educate the student and family about the college admission process. Topics include: narrowing your list, questions to ask on a college tour, college essay pointers, the application timeline, and the basics of financial aid.

Senior College Planning Night

This session is intended to educate high school seniors and their families about the college admission process. Financial Aid 101

In collaboration with the NH Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NHASFAA) Speaker's Bureau, this evening presentation helps families navigate through the financial aid process. Emphasis is placed on how to apply for aid and the types of aid available. Funding options, scholarship searches and the importance of deadlines are also discussed. Attendees will receive a copy of the Financial Aid Insider.
