Communication Folders: Communication will be a key factor to a successful year. Your child will have an blue communication folder in his or her backpack. You will find student work along with information about our classroom activities. If you have information to relay to us (questions, concerns, or good news), please send it to us in this folder, as we will check it each morning. Please help your child to remember to bring this folder back daily.

Snack Break: We will have a fifteen-minute snack break each morning. Students have the option of purchasing snack milk during this time.

Recess: Weather permitting, we will be going outside for recess every day. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the day.

Label Items: Please don’t assume your child will remember which is which and whose is whose. Clearly label your child’s belongings. This is especially important during the winter months. The closet can be a confusing place for our younger students!

When does school start? As students arrive in the morning they will be allowed to enter the school. They are not dismissed to their classrooms until 8:30 a.m. and cannot enter the classroom before that time. Any child arriving after 8:40 will need to be checked into the office for a tardy pass.

Change in Transportation: If your child is to take a different route home, please send in a note in the communication folder. Be sure to write your child’s first and last name on each note, as these are sent to the office. Safety is our number one concern, and we want to make sure our students are going to the correct after-school location!

Dress Code: Please read the handbook changes in regards to the dress code. We are a K-8 school and we must enforce the policy for all of our students, regardless of grade.
