I learned that there are a lot of bad political things that are going on right now- like how the president refuses to step down and how there is little control over anyone right now.

I learned that Haiti was the first of the American republics, after the United States, to gain its independence.
the change between the population from 1971-2015 is huge, the population grew by millions, the smallest population being zero in 1971, to being around 342,545 in 2015. There is an unfortunate amount of overcrowding- only 55,000 people, which is less than one-third of Haiti's population, have been granted a passport to leave Haiti and come to America to try and have a better future. After a tragic Hurricane in 2010, over 300,000 people were left dead and nearly 1.5 million were left homeless and/or injured. this is because Haiti has little to no hospitals and very little money to support themselves so during the hurricane not many people could prepare for it.
