School Counseling & Student Services
Our Mission at the School Counseling & Student Services Department is to coordinate a comprehensive program for ALL students that inspires academic success, enhances college and career readiness, and fosters social and emotional development from 6th grade to High School Graduation.
High School course work is offered at the general, college preparatory, and honors level. Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) including independent studies, internships, Virtual Learning Academy (VLACS), and Edmentum online courses are offered to students on an individual basis. Nute is also part of the Tri-City agreement with Dover, Rochester, and Somersworth, which allows students to attend Career Technical Education (CTE) classes, such as HVAC, Automotive Technology, Animal Science, and Cosmetology (to name a few). Many of these programs allow students to complete licensure or certification in their area of study and some offer Early College/Running Start/Dual Enrollment credit.
Students are encouraged to participate in standardized achievement and aptitude testing including PSAT 10, SAT/ACT, and ASVAB.
Bring Back the Trades Event
The New Hampshire Bringing Back the Trades event and corresponding Tradeapalooza Career Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (doors open at 9 a.m.) on November 15 at NHTI – Concord’s Community College.
This event, which is available to New Hampshire students, was created to help students, parents and job seekers learn more about available careers in the trades. Participants will learn what internships and apprenticeships are available, and speak with individuals in the trades, including construction, electrical, manufacturing, automotive and more.
