3rd Grade

In 3rd Grade we having been learning all about authors and illustrators, characters and settings. We read The Very Impatient Caterpillar, written and illustrated by Ross Burach. We noticed that when the caterpillars speak, their words appear in speech bubbles and sometimes the size of the words and their facial expressions change to show how they are feeling. After using our imaginations to think of other words to describe the caterpillars, we worked in teams of two to create new scenarios. We drew the characters, added speech bubbles with dialog and drew a setting.
