Grade 7
Waves-Sound and Light
For physical science, students learn about mechanical and electromagnetic waves, including the parts of waves, how waves move, and how to calculate the speed of waves. 7th grade students study sound and light waves through labs and research projects.
Ecology
 In life science, students learn about populations, living and nonliving factors in an ecosystem, and how organisms interact. They extensively practice researching and presenting information.
Astronomy
For geology, we explore what the requirements are for a material to be considered a mineral. Students also research minerals and present their research to the class. 7th grade students also study astronomy where they learn about tides, eclipses, phases of the moon, planets, and conduct a research project on two celestial objects of their choosing.
