  • Summary of Year Fourth grade mathematics is about (1) developing understanding and fluency with multi-digit multiplication, and developing understanding of dividing to find quotients involving multi-digit dividends; (2) developing an understanding of fraction equivalence, addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators, and multiplication of fractions by whole numbers; and (3) understanding that geometric figures can be analyzed and classified based on their properties, such as having parallel sides, perpendicular sides, particular angle measures, and symmetry.

Homework Expectations

Homework can be expected Monday -Thursday = 40 minutes/night.

Spelling/vocabulary or grammar = 10 minutes/night

Math = 10 minutes/night

Reading, assigned or choice at least 20 minutes each night

Total time spent on homework should be 40 minutes

No homework (except reading) on weekends unless a student has a long term project.
