5 Laskowsky

Summer Work for Phase 2 - Outdoor Classroom

The first day will be to dig holes for the footings. We plan to work Thursday July 22, 2021 from 1:30-5.

Anytime during that window we would happily accept your help digging. We could also use shovels, post hole diggers and root/branch clippers.

Would welcome any help.

As 4th grade delves into the history of earth and mankind, Ms. Laskowsky’s class has undertaken an archaeological investigation.

What is archaeology? : The study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains conducted through the scientific method.

So they began with a question- What is under the lump of dirt at outdoor classroom site 7?

The dedicated students have been dismantling the lump, inch by inch - recording measurements, soil and any materials found in the earth or by their classmates screening the soil.

Notable finds so far include roots, rocks, worms- but tomorrow, who knows?
