Welcome to Mrs. Morrisette's Classroom!
This year your child will be learning more organizational skills and given more responsibilities in their class work. As you will see the expectations and work begin to get more difficult in fourth grade. If we work together as a team, we can make the year successful for your child. Communication will be the key to this. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. You can email at:kmorrisette@sau53.org, which I check in the morning and after school.
Students have an agenda book that they will fill out daily that contains their homework assignments for each day. Please be sure to check this each night to ensure that homework has been completed.
Our math program is Eureka Math. We will begin our second unit on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division the month of October. Fact fluency will be the building blocks for math this year, so it is important your child practice his/her math facts as part of their nightly homework.
This year your child will be learning reading through the use of our reading series called Wonders. This series has a literature anthology, a Reading/Writing workshop book, and a practice activities that will be used to reinforce skills taught that are based our competencies. Vocabulary list will last for two weeks. Students will be bringing home a set of 8 vocabulary word flashcards. These 8 words will be accompanied by a vocabulary choice board with activities to help with studying. Students are expected to complete at least 6 of the choice board activities over the two weeks.
Thank you and I look forward to a great year working with you and your child!
