Welcome to History of YOUR Life!

This class will explore your life in the context of 21st century US history: what was going on during your lifetime? How does your life reflect what is happening in the larger world?

Your participation in this class is vital - since your experience is unique to you, your contributions will help others understand the world from your point of view. This means:

• Please choose events from your life that you are willing to share. You are not *required* to share personal information with the class; however, sharing *some* information is encouraged.

• Please choose world events that are related to the life events you have chosen to share. Be aware that discussion is an important part of this class, and if you have chosen world events that are difficult for you to discuss, participation will be very difficult for you.

• NO YUM YUCKING!

  • Everyone has different things that are important to them. We will honor what is important to you; we ask that you offer others the same courtesy.

• This class is a safe space.

  • Your life experiences are yours. We will honor that by allowing you to share your experiences without judgment.

  • HOWEVER, please remember that I, as a classroom teacher, am a mandated reporter. I will not keep secrets about anything that is harming you, including yourself.
