Guiding Principles of Redistricting

The following principles were established by the committee to guide its process.

• Proportional utilization of our schools

• Equitable class sizes across schools 

• Maintain walkability

• Neighborhoods kept together

• Maintain existing family connections to current schools or have adequate transition 

• Limit the number of students that need to transition

• Anticipate further development

• Anticipate  turnover of existing housing stock (i.e. older owners selling to new families)

• Maintaining enrollment trends over time

• Consider equity in distribution
