HONORS @PHS

PHS is proud to have a long tradition of offering all of our students a wide variety of rigorous and challenging classes in every department and subject area. In addition to that, we offer another level of academic challenge through our Honors and Dual Enrollment courses.

PHS currently offers students distinct and equally rigorous opportunities to engage in advanced course work. Specifically, we offer classes designated as either HONORS or DUAL ENROLLMENT. Each of these classes are designated as our most rigorous offerings. Understanding the distinctions between each will help you decide the best options for your learning.

Advanced Standing and College Credit.pdf

One example of how a college manages transfer credit and advanced standing (UNH example)

Please note, this example from UNH is just one of the many ways colleges and universities manage their own allowable transfer credits from DE, AP, IB, CLEP, etc. Specifically, in this UNH example you'll see that not all AP exams and DE classes are accepted and that acceptance is dependent on the score on the AP exam and for DE a minimum of a C is required in  the class.

Please research and understand how the colleges you are interested in communicate and allow for transfer credits. There is no universal acceptance of AP, IB, DE, etc as credits or advance standing. Each college has a unique approach to refusing and accepting transfer credits
