School Supplies: Any specific supplies needed, teachers will notify students the first day of class. Students are encouraged to have general school supplies (pencils, pens, notebooks, etc.). All incoming students will be issued a district-owned Chromebook computer for their usage while attending PHS. More information below regarding dates of distribution.

PHS PTA NEEDS YOUR HELP!
The Portsmouth High School PTA supports the school community through special teacher and staff appreciation events throughout the year. The PTA also funds and organizes Celebration Graduation, the all-night party for our graduating class. Please email phspacsau52@gmail.com if you can help.

The Performing Arts Department encourages all students to explore the amazing world of performing arts. The drama program offers a comprehensive study of the theatrical arts both onstage and offstage, with courses offered in design, playwriting, acting, dancing, and musical theatre performance. All PHS students are eligible to participate in the Fall and Spring full length PHS Drama productions, as well as the New Hampshire, New England, and National High School One Act Theatre Festival. The Music program offers a wide selection of courses in both performance and classroom areas of instruction. Music studied ranges from the classical tradition to popular to contemporary. Traditional instruments as well as music technology equipment such as keyboards, computers, synthesizers and sequencers are available in the Music program. Members of the music performance groups also have the opportunity to audition for placements in All-State Music Festival, All-New England Music Festival, and New Hampshire Jazz All-State.All courses in Performing Arts may be taken to satisfy the Fine Arts Requirements.
Our student-athletes compete in a variety of NH Division I and II sports of the NHIAA. Portsmouth HS has a very qualified coaching staff and a long tradition of excellent sports teams. In addition to working hard in the classroom and on the field, our student-athletes are encouraged to volunteer in the community and with our younger populations.
