In an effort to supplement the already amazing social and emotional learning that happens throughout each day in the RES classrooms, hallways, cafeteria and playgrounds, I will be engaging with students in the classroom each week throughout the year. These special opportunities provide me with a chance to get to know your child as a learner and to support their social and emotional growth.
This year, I am using A Little Spot of Feelings materials for students in Kindergarten, and tapping into the amazing material and resources found in the PurposeFull People program offered by Character Strong.
These books, accompanied by an Educator Guide that was developed to align with CASEL and the Common Core Standards, teach our Kindergarteners about emotions and feeling. Used as a supplement to the already amazing learning that happens in our K classrooms, students will:
