8th Grade computer class has two components for the students.
The first is the state required ICT Literacy assessment of students. Since HBMS receives the students from Hollis and Brookline, HBMS is required to assess the students in Quarters three or four in eighth grade. After a brief overview/introduction students will be required to complete this ICT Literacy assessment outside of classroom time and submit their final products to Mr. Gruce using the Google Classroom. The students will have only two attempts to receive a passing grade on all five portions of this literacy.
The focus of Eighth grade will be working in Python using the "Non-Programmer's Tutorial for Python 3". Students will learn and add to their Python skills from seventh grade using this book. Once finished, students will be required to (using the code they have used) create a "application" for others to use (school appropriate).
It could be a:
- "Game"
- "Application"
