June 3rd-7th
Reading - We wrapped up our biography units this week with our projects and wax museum event.
Math - We continued talking about volume and capacity this week. We moved from estimating volume and capacity to measuring exact volume and learning how to read different measuring tools such as graduated cylinders and measuring cups.
Writing - Students fine-tuned their speeches and practiced reciting them to different partners. We also wrote paragraphs describing the adaptations for our animals in our science activity.
Science - We continued talking about animal adaptations this week. Students randomly chose a card with a habitat on it, and they had to design a creature that had three separate adaptations to help it to survive in that environment. The students had a lot of fun designing their animals!
Social Studies - Our Wax Museum event was wonderful! It was so much fun to see the kids' hard work come to life! They did an amazing job with their research and their speeches, and it was so great to see them show off their work.
Other - We had a great time on our hiking field trip on Tuesday. We also got to go inside CSDA and meet their principal for next year!
