You may notice your child is elevating their wrist when writing. This is an indication that they are still working on developing and strengthening their wrist muscles. Here are some activities that will help.
Write on a vertical surface. Tape a piece of paper to the fridge, or use a slanted clip board
Paint on an easel
Make crayon rubbing art (rub the side of the crayon over a page. Make sure the page is taped to a vertical surface.
The elbow should be below the hand to allow for the best wrist extension.
