The Department of Health & Human Services provides financial assistance to low-income families and those who are in need of extra help during a period of their lives for a variety of different reasons

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Provides nutrition benefits so families can purchase healthy food. Card provided and reloads every month with specified amount based on family eligibility.
Emergency Assistance
Helps families get or keep their homes by providing assistance for rent or utilities, security deposits, first month's rent, home heating fuel deliveries, or past due rent, mortgage, or utility debts.
Electric & Fuel Assistance Programs
Electric- helps income eligible customers pay their electric bills. The EAP provides customers with a discount on their monthly electric bills. The discounts range from 9% to 77%, depending on the customer's gross household income and household size.
Fuel- provides benefits to qualified households to assist with heating costs. The FAP can also help households during a heating emergency by securing an emergency delivery of fuel, delaying a shut-off notice, or referring clients to another source of assistance.

If your private vehicle passed the safety inspection but failed its OBD emission inspection and you cannot afford the necessary repairs, fill out this waiver that can help with the necessary repairs

The Merrimack Public Library serves as a year-round collection site for used eyeglasses and hearing aids. There are small collection boxes for each located in the foyer for these donations.
*If you are in need of glasses or hearing aids please visit their website for information and applications.
The Lion's Club makes an appearance at each school to conduct vision screenings for students.
If they have 'failed' the screening, a parent/guardian will be notified.
If you are in need of financial assistance for an eye exam and new glasses for your student, please contact your schools Social Worker to get an application for assistance.
Every year the Lioness Club helps support students and their families through Operation Santa.

Provides elderly, handicapped, and low-income residents with the financial assistance necessary to meet vital heating and utility expenses.
Also offers case management to develop a plan to achieve increased financial self-sufficiency to avoid energy-related emergencies such as running out of heating fuel.
