Number sense is a group of skills that allow kids to work with numbers. It includes skills like:
Understanding quantities.
Grasping concepts like more and less, and larger and smaller.
Recognizing relationships between single items and groups of items (seven means one group of seven items).
Understanding symbols that represent quantities (7 means the same thing as seven).
Making number comparisons (12 is greater than 10, and four is half of eight).
Understanding the order of numbers in a list: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

Playing with dominos will help your child with number sense. You can have your child look for numbers up to 12 using them. See if they can find numbers that add up to numbers 0 to 12.
Using dice also helps with number sense. Roll the dice. Have you child add the numbers together. You can roll one dice, and have your child add one to the number they roll. You can roll to see which number is larger.
Card games like Crazy 8's and Go Fish are great for using numbers for number sense. We are looking for students to see groups of objects numerically.
Sight word bedtime flash card game:
Take 5 or 6 cards with sight words on them, arrange them on the floor, and hand your child a flashlight. Turn off the light, and have your child find the card you ask.
