"Students from the EHS's Roots & Wings Collective joined SAU 16's Chief Equity Officer, Arlynn Polletta, to offer a presentation titled Dialogue Across Differences: Strategies for Navigating Conversations on Challenging Topics for residents at RiverWoods in Exeter. Participants were introduced to the key components of dialogue and practiced their skills in small group activities facilitated by students. The event was hosted by the Inclusivity Committee at RiverWoods, and we hope to continue this multigenerational partnership in the future."
We celebrated AAPI Month with our Build-A-Boba Social!! We supplied many cups of milk tea brown-sugar boba right after school in the main foyer of the school! Many students and staff stopped by to grab a cup and learn about the history of boba as well what AAPI Heritage Month is through our informative posters! Thank you to Racial Unity Team for supporting this event!!
Every month, week, and day there is a different identity, history, etc. being celebrated and recognized. Roots & Wings has our members and other students at EHS create info-graphics to highlight people, organizations and more to take part in recognizing diverse identities. If you are interested in making an infographic of your own, come to a meeting to reserve a week to have yours posted!
We made over 300 origami pieces with help from the EHS community then created this mosaic!! Thank you!!!
Please view the video to the left to see what it looks like with some additional commentary on the meaning and message behind this piece.
These posters were a few drafts done by our very artistic member, Morgan Peterson. The official posters are often seen in many of the EHS classrooms.

Roots & Wings presented these posters in a workshop with student leaders at the NH Southern District meeting in April of 2023.
We also presented them in a similar workshop manner to the majority of the Education Departments at EHS and the entire CMS, LSS, and MSS staff.

We started by sketching, and doing some last minute conceptual changes. Then, we moved on to doing some block painting and also some additional artistic/feathery strokes in some areas. We finished by writing in the goals for our community and cleaning up.
