MTSS/RISE CENTER
"Restorative, Integrative Skills for Education"
RISE (Restorative, Integrative Skills for Education) is a classroom resource center available to all students in the building. Located in the center of EHS in the former College and Career Center (Room A161), RISE was piloted last year as a response to identified student needs for support in areas such as executive functioning, social problem-solving/coping strategies, and structured drop-in academic assistance.

Universal Accessibility -- Everyone is welcome and included

Flexible Resources -- Students can access help in many different forms
Collaborative MTSS Approach -- All staff work together to foster student success
Students can request to access the RISE Center during their study halls, lunches, and with teacher permission for a range of supports, including:
Organizational and study skills
Use of planners/to-do lists/graphic organizers/project planning
Structured drop-in academic assistance
Lessons on a variety of topics
Coping strategies/social problem-solving
A “working lunch”
A quiet space to complete work outside of the classroom
Mindfulness and wellness strategies
This year Exeter High School welcomed Amanda Huyler as the new MTSS Coach and RISE Center coordinator. Ms. Huyler is a certified School Counselor and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who has worked in schools for over 20 years. The RISE Center is also supported by intervention and paraprofessional staff during the school day.
HOW CAN STUDENTS ACCESS RISE?
Students can ask for a pass from their study hall or classroom teacher to go to RISE during available “drop in” times.
RISE is open every lunch! Students can bring their food and have a “working lunch” in the Center.
RISE “Snack and Chat Topics of the Week” are announced on Mondays and posted on the TV screens throughout the building. These are short lesssons on a variety of teen-useful topics.
