AFFINITY SPACES AT EHS
Affinity spaces are identity-based groups that bring together students who share a common identity. These spaces provide opportunities to connect, discuss experiences related to that identity, and develop positive action steps to promote equity within the EHS community. They are designed to support historically marginalized groups and to offer safe, open environments for sharing and learning for everyone.
Identity Development: High school is a critical period for exploring and forming one’s identity.
Sense of Belonging: Feeling connected and accepted is essential for both academic success and emotional well-being.
Cultural Awareness: Affinity groups foster empathy, understanding, and perspective-taking across diverse experiences.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Building social and emotional skills helps students develop positive behaviors and a strong sense of self.
