Course Overview

Spanish in the eighth grade is a year long course designed to reinforce and further develop knowledge gained in seventh grade Spanish: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The aim is for students to carry on simple conversations and understand basics of culture, vocabulary and grammatical concepts in the Hispanic world. Aspects of contemporary Spanish culture are introduced through the use of media, games, and adapted readings and in small or large group discussions.

In addition to written/oral tests and quizzes, students are assessed using a variety of formats: oral dialogues, presentations, written compositions and other means.
