Imagine It! Reading program helps facilitate language and reading strategies for emergent-developed readers. This program is used to help students learn to read and then develop into learners who read to learn. With activities such as main selections, concepts and questions, grammar, phonics, leveled readers and decodeables, learners with get all fundamental skills while embracing multiple genres of literature.

Math

Here at AVS we use Math In Focus for our math curriculum. This curriculum embraces grade level standards to help build on fundamental math skills using guided practice, hands on activities and skill reinforcement. This approach to learning not only helps visual learner but allows students to really grasp means to computing numbers and number sense to help them learn best. It also allows multiple avenues in learning to help the students be able to show how they arrived to their answer providing multiple ways to do so. Students will have a textbook for classroom use and a workbook for practicing their skills at school.

A great tool to utilize throughout the school year is XtraMath! This online program helps students build confidence in math fact fluency, while building those fundamental skills necessary for further learning. This program can be used at home and will also be utilized for extra practice during school as well. There is a button at the top of the page linked to that site as well!
