Fourth Grade

Rhythm: 

• Read and count sixteenth note patterns in various songs

• Write sixteenth patterns in a variety of rhythmic patterns

• Perform and improvise rhythmic patterns 

• Compare and contrast instruments Sixteenth and Eighth Note Combinations (du-ta–de, du—de-ta)

• Read and count quarter, eighth, triplet, and sixteenth note patterns in various songs

• Write patterns in a variety of rhythmic patterns 

Solfege and Treble Clef:

• Connect the similarities and differences between solfege and treble clef notes 

• Play solfege and treble clef notes on the recorder and mallet instruments 

Concert Performance:

• Perform for an audience 

• Demonstrate proper concert and audience behavior based upon the setting ● 

• Listen and evaluate performances using music vocabulary

Instrument Families:

• Identify the instruments in the four instrument families 

• Compare and contrast instruments.

Recorder 

• Read and perform melodic and rhythmic patterns in a variety of songs

• Play the recorder using the correct technique
