About the job

Peer Campus Ministers are students selected on the basis of leadership, experience, spiritual maturity, and the desire to help resident students grow spiritually. They are representatives of the Campus Ministry Department and, as student staff members of the University, are expected to act accordingly. They are responsible for acting as Christian role models for students.

Peer Campus Ministers will use the gifts God has given them, grow in their own faith, share their faith, and make a difference at St. Ambrose University.

As members of the Campus Ministry Staff, Peer Campus Ministers are directly supervised by the Director of Faith Formation. They work closely with the Director of Campus Ministry, other members of the Campus Ministry staff, and their Resident Advisors and Assistant Hall Directors.

Who are peer campus ministers?

Undergrad students who live in the Residence Halls and work with the Campus Ministry staff to develop, promote and coordinate opportunities for spiritual development and faith sharing on campus.

Compensation & Time COMMITMENT

  • $2000.00 stipend ($200.00 per month for ten months) beginning September 1, 2019
  • The Peer Campus Minister position is an academic year appointment beginning with Peer Campus Ministry training prior to the opening of the residence halls in the fall until the week of spring finals, excluding the time when residence halls are closed.
  • The Peer Campus Minister will live in his/her assigned residence hall for the duration of employment.
  • Peer Campus Ministers are expected to work 5-8 hours per week.
