The peer assistant’s (PA) role is to act as a student co-instructor with a full-time faculty or staff member for the New Student Seminar course. After the peer assistant undergoes new student seminar training, he or she will be able to help their assigned New Student Seminar instructor create tasks for students as it relates to the course learning outcomes and objectives. Job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, conducting class lectures, class preparation, making photocopies, filing papers, and facilitating classroom discussions. The peer assistant must carry out all duties as assigned by the instructor. Additionally, all peer assistants must attend all New Student Seminar classes, which meet for 50 minutes once a week for 15 weeks.
