Nov 2023 Financial Aid Night Presentation.pptx

In case you missed Financial Aid Night on Nov. 16th, here is the PowerPoint presentation given by Sue Bialk of Lakeland University.

Families wishing to be considered for college financial aid for the 2024-2025 academic year must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

We recommend that families complete and submit the FAFSA as soon as possible to ensure priority consideration for financial aid.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FSA ID -- The first step is creating a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. The student and at least one parent have to each create their own ID. Parents who have an FSA ID from filling out a previous FAFSA can use that same ID.

FAFSA -- Next, go to this site to complete your FAFSA.

FAFSA Help -- Answers to frequently asked questions about the FAFSA process can be found here.

**NEW** FAFSA Support Resources for Students

FAFSA Assistance for Students.pdf

Ripon College has produced an excellent series of videos about the new FAFSA process. The information is presented in a general format that is relevant to all students, no matter what college they plan to attend.

An organization called College Goal Wisconsin (CGW) is hosting a series of FAFSA Completion Events that walk you through the process and answer questions you may have. This is especially valuable due to the many changes that have occurred with the FAFSA this year.

Online events: Go to https://collegegoalwi.org/register/ to find out more information and register to participate in an online FAFSA completion program.

The Wisconsin Tuition Promise allows students whose families earn less than $62,000 a year to attend any of the UW colleges (except Madison) without paying tuition or fees. These costs would be covered for up to 4 years. For more information, visit the Wisconsin Tuition Promise website

Lakeshore Technical College offers the LTC Promise scholarship, a program designed to bring a college education within the reach of those who could not otherwise afford it. Through this scholarship program, LTC promises to pay the balance of tuition and fees for eligible students after federal and state grants have been applied.

The LTC Foundation offers need-based, merit-based, program-specific, and general financial support for high school seniors planning to attend LTC.  The LTC Foundation Scholarship application is available in the spring
