Tips from School Counselor Mrs. D'Aoust:

Here are some suggestions to make your time at home fun and productive!

  • Routines are even more important now! Routines should include academic time, family time & screen time.

  • Find a quiet space away from distractions.

  • Get outside every day! Fresh air is good for your mental health, sit on the porch, play in the backyard, take a walk. Just remember to Socially distance yourself from others NOT in your core family group!

  • Limit exposure to the news and social media. With everything happening in the news and on social media overexposure can be harmful and can elicit fear.

  • Now's the time! Clean out that closet you have been wanting to clean out! Get out some old family albums or old home movies.

  • Make sure your scholar connects with someone outside your home everyday! Ask them what friends or teachers they have talked to?

  • Join Mrs. D’Aoust on Zoom
