Having as its foundation the Constitution of Romania which legislates that education is a national priority in our country, the School in Păulești is the place where students are trained in the open and tolerant spirit of the European conception of education that gives equal opportunities to all, promoting team spirit, but also trust in their own strength, in the idea of the development of the human personality in a climate of physical and mental safety proper to the integration into society of all children, without restrictions or threats.
The first attestation of a public school in Păuleşti is in 1838.
The school did not have its own building; the educational activity was carried out by the teacher in the yard of his house.
The first building of the School in Păuleşti was constructed by the villagers in 1906.
A very important moment in the history of education in Păuleşti was the decision, in 1939, of the architect Toma T. Socolescu, the honorary mayor of the village, to start designing the new school in Păuleşti.
The cornerstone of the new place was laid in 1942, and the construction work lasted until 1946.
For the construction of the school he hires young people from the commune, and for the execution of the ornamental wall he brings craftsmen from Italy.
Designed in national style, the school has an apparent brick facade, with a unique architecture that gives it originality and implicitly its own identity among other similar institutions.
Who are we?
Teachers and students from a school with a rich history, but with a young soul.
There are 40 teachers and 460 students in two schools and three kindergartens.
Students and teachers from our school have participated in activities with teachers and students from Spain, Bulgaria, Poland and Turkey in a project aimed at helping teenagers feel safer online and learning how to avoid cyberbullying – “Collaborative net against cyber-bullying”.
Another ongoing Erasmus project in our school is titled “We are children of the world” and it is aimed at raising kids’ awareness about their rights.
The activities in this project are carried out in collaboration with partners from Austria, Greece, Turkey and Lithuania.
