FIRST Degree Programme
The Department of English, Santhom Malankara Arts and Science College, Edanji offers three-year UG programme under the Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBCS).
The First-Degree Programmes shall include:
1) Language Courses (LC)
2) Foundation Courses (FC)
3) Core Courses in the major subjects related to Degree Programmes (Core)
4) Complementary Courses on allied subjects (CC)
5) Open Course (OC)
6) Elective Courses (EC)
7) Project/Dissertation.
The minimum number of Courses required for the completion of a Degree Programme may vary from 30 to 38 depending on the Credits assigned to different Courses; students shall be required to earn a minimum of 120 credits from all the Courses to complete the Bachelor’s Degree within a minimum period of six semesters. And for the award of the Degree, a student must participate in any one of the social service/ Extension activities for not less than forty hours, during the 3rd and 4th Semester.
