Please bring the following documents with you to the appointment:

• Your Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)

• If you are applying for a government fee waiver, bring either

  • Verification of Benefits letter in ENGLISH (a 3-4 page letter that shows that you’re receiving Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF)

OR

• • Copy of your most recent tax forms and W-2s if you have them

• Information and dates about any trips you’ve taken in the past 5 years

• Address history for the past 5 years

• Employment history for the past 5 years, including the address of your employer and the start and end date for each job

• Basic information such as name, date and place of birth and address for your children

• Information about your current marriage and any past marriages, including date and place of marriage and how any previous marriages ended (date of divorce, etc.)

• If you have had any criminal issues in the past, bring documents from the court showing what the charges were and how the case ended (dismissed, that all obligations have been met, etc.).

Santa Fe Dreamers Project provides direct legal representation to our clients. This includes:

• assessing your eligibility

• preparing your application

• advising you about any risk factors

• responding to any correspondence from USCIS, like Requests for Evidence

• preparing you for your interview

• accompaniment to your interview, as appropriate

We do not review immigration applications prepared by others. We do not offer a workshop to teach individuals to prepare their own applications. If you are interested in attending a workshop or learning more about applying for citizenship without legal representation, please let us know and we can refer you to another organization for that kind of support.

If our legal team determines that you are not eligible for US citizenship, we can give you advice about your situation and may be able to assist you with renewing your green card. We can also refer you to other attorneys who can provide you with a second opinion.

Our legal team may recommend that you complete background checks before proceeding with your application for citizenship. We are happy to assist you with applying for background checks.
