During Distance Learning, a variety of assignments will be given and a range of platforms, extensions, and apps will be used to both deliver lessons and complete assignments. Keep the following in mind:
All assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. Log on to Google Classroom, choose your class, and go to classwork. In the classwork section there will be a list of topics. Under each topic will be a list of assignments that include the date each assignment was posted, the title of each assignment, and the due date for each assignment. When new assignments are posted, they may show up in the stream. However, it is always best to check the classwork section to make sure you do not miss any assignments.
Also in Google Classroom is a section titled Materials. In this section you will find a variety of useful information.
My syllabus will be there so you can refer to it regarding my policies for the school year. The syllabus will include the academic grading scale, my policy regarding late work & make-up work, class expectations (also known as rules), citizenship grading scale, attendance expectations including tardy policy, and other general class information.
There will be reference charts to help you with assignments such as a list of transition words and phrases, common spelling errors, word choice information, rubrics, and more.
Make-up Work & Late Work
Any assignments, tests, etc. missed due to absence must be made up within one week of returning to class. After that week, assignments not turned will be considered late.
Late work will be accepted. However, no late work will be accepted one week prior to the end of the quarter/semester.
4. Grading
Assignments will be graded with the use of rubrics and percentages. Percentages will be converted to letter grades for progress reports and report cards only. (Click link below for Academic Grading Scale)
Grades will be updated on Mondays and available on Tuesdays with the exception of work turned in late. Grades can be viewed/checked in the student portal. (Click link below for directions to access Student Portal)
